In the lower part of the picture, new shoots of plants start to grow. These delicate and fragile plants symbolize the birth of something new and represent the growth and development of faith. The shoots become progressively larger towards the centre of the composition, creating a sense of upward movement as well as further development.
The predominant green colour palette signifies freshness, vitality and renewal. It evokes a sense of nature and life and connects with the idea of faith as a nourishing force that brings growth and hope. The shades of green vary in intensity and tone, from a vibrant lime green to a deeper, earthy green.
In the shoots the green colour is mixed with brownish-red tones. This influx of warm hues adds depth and complexity to the image, suggesting the challenges and trials that accompany the birth of faith. The brown-red hues symbolize the journey of faith, which involves both growth and struggle. The interplay of green and brown-red creates a harmonious contrast that represents the duality of faith. It captures the optimism and vitality of new beginnings while affirming the necessary resilience and perseverance that are required on the journey of faith.
How to work with encaustic images:
Encaustic itself gives one the ability to see further in the end result than the original intention. It is similar to life, or the journey of self-discovery, when we try to discern what is beneath the surface and what is not apparent at first glance.
The short description of the picture can be a clue, but you don't have to be influenced by it at all.If the picture speaks to you, it means that only you can decode the hidden meaning it holds for you.Just find a moment of peace and concentrate on the picture in silence or with relaxing music. We will do a short breathing exercise (deep breath in,hold for 5 seconds and slow breath out 7 times in total). And allow the thoughts and insights to flow freely into our field of consciousness.
Write down all thoughts, feelings, physical sensations in a journal for future reference.
