Encaustic
The following series of images is devoted to digitized and in some cases digitally modified encaustic.
It is a painting technique that uses heated beeswax mixed with coloured pigments. The wax is applied to a surface, usually a wooden board or special paper, the white side of a good quality calendar can also be used and then melted by heat, the most commonly used tool is an ordinary iron, without steaming. Paintings often have a distinctive texture and depth due to the layering and manipulation of the wax medium.
I got to encaustic by accident in 2015,when I couldn't move my left arm for a long time after a fall. I needed to confront the pain in a different way than taking pills. And since my right hand was fine, I started "ironing" pictures. The effect of this therapy was admirable, the pain ceased as my concentration was fully absorbed in the picture I was working on.
